Greenland Lakes 2009

This was a mini-field season with Ian Joughin and Mark Behn taking two day trips from Ilulissat to recover data and recondition the sites at North and South Lakes. The stations had melted out significantly, but looked like they could make it through until summer 2010 when we will return for several days to rebuild the instrument towers.

Crack after South Lake Drainage, Summer 2009 In the summer of 2009, the South Lake that we had instrumented, drained rapidly through this large crack, which is nearly 2 miles long.
